150th Anniversary Celebration

In 2019, Zion Lutheran celebrated the 150th anniversary of its’ founding.

In August, Zion held a special service with the Rev. John Macholz, Bishop of the Upstate New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

In 2019, Zion also celebrated its’ 70th Memorial Candlelight Service for All Saints’ Day.

Candles are lit in memory of departed loved ones and, in addition, a bell is tolled in memory of loved one who have passed in the past year. This year there were approximately 250 candles lit with a time for fellowship (and cookies!) following.
